How It Started
Born From a Love of Getting Lost
Departure Point Travel began the way most good things do — with a trip that changed everything. After years of booking travel through impersonal platforms and arriving at destinations that looked nothing like the brochure, our founder decided there had to be a better way.
The idea was simple: what if someone who genuinely loved travel — who had actually stood at the rim of the Santorini caldera at sunrise, who knew which ryokan in Kyoto still served kaiseki the traditional way, who had a contact at a private villa on the Amalfi Coast — could plan your trip for you?
That's what Departure Point Travel is. Not a booking engine. Not a template. A real person, with real experience, who cares deeply about getting your trip right.

Alexandra has spent the better part of two decades traveling to over 60 countries — not as a tourist, but as someone who wanted to understand what made each place extraordinary. She's navigated the medinas of Fes, hiked to remote glaciers in Patagonia, and spent a week on a working tea estate in Sri Lanka.
Before founding Departure Point Travel, Alexandra worked in luxury hospitality, where she developed deep relationships with hotels, guides, and operators around the world. Those relationships are the foundation of what she offers clients today: access, insight, and the kind of local knowledge that no algorithm can replicate.
When she's not planning someone else's adventure, you'll find her somewhere with a good espresso, a worn map, and a notebook full of places she still wants to go.
